I have done the following steps: 1) verified that my PHP _script_ syntactically as well as functionally works: php -q /home/ppowell/web/blah.php /home/ppowell/web/_xml_/state._xml_ Works like a charm! However, the VERY MOMENT I try to use this same stuff in _xml__procs.tcl for TCL as CGI: puts catch exec $valPHPPath -q $_script_Path/blah.php ${fileName}._xml_ result  if {[catch exec $valPHPPath -q $_script_Path/blah.php ${fileName}._xml_ result]} {   puts error: $result  } else {   return $result  } This happens: catch exec /usr/local/bin/php -q /home/ppowell/web/blah.php /home/ppowell/web/_xml_/fortune._xml_ result error: Status: 404 X-Powered-By: PHP/4.4.4 Content-type: text/html No input file specified. child process exited abnormally How on earth will something work in php shell, tclsh and break in TCL CGI doing the exact same thing? Have you considered the possibility that your web server is running in a chroot environment and can't read $_script_Path/blah.php? Or perhaps that $_script_Path isn't defined to be what you think it is, and is thus pointing to a non-existent file?

You'll unfortunately have to show me exactly how to do it, the right way.  I just am not processing this. Out of curiosity, why are you doing this since you appear to have little training and/or understanding of programming?
