The NFL's Firm policy against drafting sophmores doesn't seem quite so firm any more. Randy Moss declared his intention to jump to the NFL recently. He's a Sophmore.  I haven't heard anything about the NFL attempting to block this.  Another firm policy deflates with a resounding pffffffft   Bill

The NFL's Firm policy against drafting sophmores doesn't seem quite so firm any more. Randy Moss declared his intention to jump to the NFL recently. He's a Sophmore.  I haven't heard anything about the NFL attempting to block this.  Another firm policy deflates with a resounding pffffffft   Bill And although Huard did not come out, isn't he to a sophomore?  I know he strongly considered it.

:     No. He's a Redshirt sophmore. So he's been there three years : already. Not that it makes much difference. The point is, he's only played 2 years of college football (other than practices.) Bill

: You have to be a true sofmore for that to apply, so guys like Moss and : Huard could declare with no problem, but if say, Andy Katzenmoyer or Ron : Dayne had declared, the NFL would have most likely unsucessfully tried : to keep them out of the draft. I don't remember other redshirt sophmores ever entering the draft... If Katzenmoyer contested the policy, I doubt the NFL would have made much of an effort to resist. Bill
