three tier architecture Identity in three-tier architecture?
Hi all, Until now, I've been programming two-tier solutions. My knowledge of three-tier architechture is very weak. Could someone please explain this for me: I began to wonder, if you could use @@IDENTITY global variable in three-tier solutions in the same way as in two-tier? If IIS handles the connection _object_, how could the user connection be identified to catch the indetity value of last inserted row of spesific user? Arto

Arto, You should do that in the same batch (preferably in the same stored procedure) that did the INSERT.
