On balance, VHS was the superior product. You could be more full of shit, just not in this life. So pray tell, what was the reason for VHS being more popular then? Was it a conspiracy or was it because the pros of VHS outwieghed all the pros of LD...?

So are you disagreeing that VHS sold better than LD...? You're an idiot. You are one of those abso-fucking-lutely retarded fucks that cannot examine statistical figures correctly. What statisical figures are you referring to? I ask again - are you disagreeing that VHS sold better than LD...? PS - why all the anger? Did your boyfriend refuse to give you a reach-around when he was bumming you last night?

This stupid asshole perkoff throws its immature spamtrums because it's still aching from being so MassivelyWrong about its favorite format, HD DVD.

Also in relation to your CD to DVD migration, you were talking about music commercially produced CDs. IIRC Writable CDs weren't really around until about the mid 90s (Thought Wikipedia says the original technology was developed in 88) about six years before writable DVDs hit the market. I wasn't saying that CDs, DVDs were burnable at their given inceptions, just giving a timeline to how things progressed in the digital world. Looking at that timeline, it seems BR will be outdone in 5+ years by something else.

wrote in message Heck and I'm on of them. Me too. I've got two games for my PS3 (Might get GTA4 as well) both came with it. I got the PS3 because it was a cost effective easily updatable BR p_layer_. Anyone who thinks that BR won't eventually catch on frankly moronic. HD is the future of video media and computers are crying of for a storage medium to replace DVD. There were naysayers when DVD came out. There always will be. BR wont take off and i dont care being labeled moronic. Care to explain you reasoning then? Mine is that HD TVs are now the norm when buying a new screen so people are goign to want to take advantage of them. BR gives a noticeable increase in image quality and is well supported by the industry with practically every DVD release of new film also having a BR release. The price difference is too big between BR and DVD for BR to be a contender, and with double digit broadband rolling out across the country and standard in quite a lot of countries already BR is as dead as HD-DVD.

There were naysayers when DVD came out. There always will be. Beta Ray won't catch on and the reasons are very simple. VHS to DVD = big difference DVD to HD-DVD or Blu Ray = not much difference + more more cost and hardware. I think your wrong there. Someone in here (can't remember who) posted saying that there is a bigger jump in screen rez between DVD and Blu-Ray, than there was between VHS and DVD. Well VHS and DVD in the UK are both PAL formats.
